Victor and Sally Fernandez, Philippines

In the Philippines we support Victor Fernandez Jr. who pioneers a church in Manila and Living Waters Church in Iloilo City led by Victor Fernandez Sr.

Victor Jr. is married to Roselie with two sons, Kemuel and Victor. The church also has a part-time bible school and a feeding program.

When the floods in the Philippines destroyed houses and cattle of the church in 2009 we were able to send them a gift, and in 2011 we sent them a gift enabling students to pursue further education.

In Iloilo, where Victor’s mum and dad, Victor Sr. and Sally pastor a Church, our giving is more intermittent.

The ministry of both Churches in Manila and Iloilo has mainly been to the poor and underprivileged people of their city.

In 1999 Living Waters embarked upon a project to provide a Church building in Iloilo as a love gift to these people who had nowhere to meet, and were struggling to fulfil their work. One of our elders, Peter Kember, went to Iloilo City, purchased a suitable piece of land, and the project began - helped by Soapbox teams who went out twice to help with the construction. Two years later Charles and Joyce Sibthorpe (Charles being one of the Elders of Living Waters) travelled to the Philippines for the dedication of the building. In 2006 Charles, Joyce, again visited the Philippines, together with  Peter and Alison Kember, to attend Victor Jr.’s graduation from Bible College. While they were there they also went to a remote area of the island called Alimodian, where a church has been planted and bamboo building constructed for their gathering.
