What is a Life Group?

What is a Life Group?

Church on Sunday is great but if you want to feel connected you need to be in a life group.

We have many ‘Life Groups’ doing all sorts of different things and you may well be asking what is a Life Group and why have them?

A Life Group is a small group of people, with a common purpose, who support each other in day-to-day life.

We believe that God has asked us to make disciples not just run church services. Jesus did that in the context of a small group and we are following that model to grow passionate followers of Jesus.

We would like to invite you to attend one of our groups.
There are no entry requirements, all you have to do is Contact Us and we will put you in touch with the relevant Life Group Leader.

We also encourage all who regularly attend Living Waters Church to be in a Life Group. They are the main vehicle for connecting us together as a body of people. All of our other serving teams and groups are intended to be a compliment to Life Groups and not substitute for them.

The aim of each group is to develop a sense of community that encourages each person to become a passionate follower of Jesus.

Why have them? Well, the benefits of being part of a Life Group are many, here are just a few:-

  • People establish deeper relationships with each other and God.
  • They are accepted for who they are whilst at the same time encouraged to reach their full potential in God.
  • A place of care giving and care receiving
  • Somewhere to serve others

Life Groups aim to foster an environment where people feel loved, accepted, nurtured and cared for, where they can be themselves, know and contribute to a sense of belonging.

They are both outward focused with a heart for the community around them and inward focused to encourage, promote and support personal maturity.

Prayer and biblical teaching are the foundation, whilst service is positively promoted and encouraged. Individuals can realise their potential and be prepared for the life that God desires for them.
