There are two Clevedon home groups, one is run by Dave & Sue Regan the other by Dave & Clare Ackrill.
Dave and Sue share about their group :
"We meet fortnightly on a Thursday evening, where there is a relaxed, informal and supportive atmosphere which provides an opportunity to develop and build relationships, so that those who come are comfortable to share their experiences, opinions and faith with others.
We give time to listen to issues that have arisen in one another’s home, work or social lives and share experience and encouragement as we learn from each other, praying together and discussing situations that concern us. We sometimes talk about subjects that have been raised in the message on a Sunday, so that people have a chance to ask questions or look into the subject in more depth. This means that the meetings vary from week to week as we adapt to meet the needs of the people within it.
Our home group is a place where people can learn to use and develop their gift’s, however new they may be to the Christian faith. We pray together for the Holy Spirit to guide our lives and touch those who come into contact with, that we might affect their lives for Jesus and they may come to know Him.
Our social activities provide opportunities for non-Christian family, friends and neighbours to get to know us, in the hope that in the future they may feel free to ask questions about our faith.Home group is part of the extended family of Living Waters Church and anyone who would like to meet with us would be made very welcome."
Dave and Clare write :
“Our home group’s main aims are to enable those that come, to feel connected with the Church through the group. We want to see the positive effect our lives have on the people around us and show them Jesus in our actions. We want to grow spiritually together.
The subjects we want to talk about include fatherhood, motherhood, challenges in modern society, the media, money and materialism. We look forward to seeing how the group develops and grows.
It is great that even though the group is new, we are already praying and looking out for each other. We have been able to get to know people that we didn't know before and invite people along that need support. If you are not part of a home group, find one!”
