Jutvari Chuirches and Football Club, Bulgaria
led by Craig & Milena Sibthorpe
Craig and Milena currently oversee 6 churches in the Plovdiv area, and a football outreach. Five of these churches are among the Turkish and Roma minorities who live in large ghettos, and one is Bulgarian.
Their aim is to see these churches grow and become strong and established and to see the goodness of God displayed to all. They also seek to continue to plant churches that are full of faith and the
gifts of the Holy Spirit, and to encourage the pastors of these churches and strengthen their work as they reach out. In 2010, sixty people were baptised.
They have received help from a Christian businessman in order to develop businesses amongst the minorities and enable prosperity to come into these communities. Over the past few years they have also held several tent missions led by Tim Grant, who works with an organisation called Spearhead.
Jutvari FC has a former professional Nigerian football player, Segun as a coach, who is also a role model for the boys. There are currently three teams and one of these plays in the local league. The players have developed under Segun’s leadership and training. Some of them are also part of the youth group in the church. Jutvari FC was the subject of a documentary made by Nick Jones of Living Waters Church, and he won a television award for it.
Craig & Milena have two daughters, Gillian and Tegan.
